Commissions

Are you interested in an original custom piece? Perhaps as a gift for someone special or a treat for yourself? Commissioning a piece might be the perfect solution for you! In order to make this experience as simple and easy as possible, I have outlined my standard commission process below.

Step 1
The first step is to complete the commission questionnaire.  This questionnaire will help me to better understand your commission requirements and what you are looking for.  It is a vital step in the commission process that will give both of us a firm starting point.
Step 2
After I receive your commission questionnaire, I will assemble a commission estimate that will include the cost and estimated timeline. I will send this to you via email for your approval. If further clarity or discussion is needed, it will typically occur at this time.
Step 3
Once I have received your approval (via email), I will send you a formal commission agreement for you to review and sign (electronically). Once I have received your signed agreement, I will invoice you via Paypal for 50% of the total cost (not including shipping).  This deposit is non-refundable.  Once the deposit has been received, I will be able to start working on your special piece.
Step 4
The length of time it will take to complete your piece will vary depending on the size, subject matter, and complexity.  Together, we will negotiate the timeline prior to signing the formal agreement.  Typically, a piece will be completely between four (4) and six (6) weeks of receiving your deposit.
Step 5
During this step is where the fun begins! I will send you between 2-4 images as the work processes. Through collaborative dialogue, we will work together to ensure that the character, composition and mood are exactly what you hope for.
Step 6
Once your drawing is complete, I will email some final images (including up close detail images) for your final approval. Once you have approved the piece, I will invoice the remainder of the cost (plus cost of shipping – if applicable) via Paypal. If you live within the Calgary area, I can arrange personal delivery of your piece of art. Otherwise, your drawing will be packaged and shipped to you via Canada Post. All pieces of art will be carefully packaged to ensure they are protected throughout their journey to you.
